Help and support
Answers about installing Cuekoo, using it in a call, sharing your screen, plans and TeleCue. If yours isn't here, write to support@cuekoo-ai.com.
Getting started
Cuekoo runs on Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) and Windows 11, 64-bit. The download page starts the installer and walks you through the Windows prompt.
What do I need to run Cuekoo?
A 64-bit PC with Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) or Windows 11, and an internet connection for transcription and answers. A microphone is optional: without it, Cuekoo transcribes only the other side. You need an account for the assistant; TeleCue works without one.
How do I install Cuekoo?
Download the installer from cuekoo-ai.com and open it. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", select More info, then Run anyway. Cuekoo installs in a few seconds and opens: sign in, or use TeleCue without an account.
How do I install Cuekoo past "Windows protected your PC"?
Cuekoo is new and its installer isn't signed yet, so Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may stop it the first time. Select More info, check that the app is the Cuekoo installer, then select Run anyway.
If Smart App Control blocks it, there's no Run anyway button. Write to support@cuekoo-ai.com and we'll help. Only run a Cuekoo installer downloaded from cuekoo-ai.com.
Does Cuekoo work on Mac?
Yes. Cuekoo works on macOS 14.4 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Choose the Mac download on the download page. Cuekoo also runs on Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) and Windows 11, 64-bit.
How do I update Cuekoo?
Cuekoo checks for updates by itself and offers Update now when a new version is ready. It never updates during a session, and nothing downloads until you choose Update now. Settings → About shows your version and has Check for updates.
Using Cuekoo in a call
The overlay, the live transcript and the answers, and the keys that drive them. The private overlay page shows how the window behaves.
How do I start a session?
Choose Start session on the dashboard. In Choose an agent, pick Cuekoo or one of your own agents, what to listen to, and whether to save the meeting. Then turn on Transcribe system audio for the other people, Transcribe my microphone for you, or both.
What are Cuekoo's keyboard shortcuts?
During a session, Ctrl+Shift+Space shows and focuses Cuekoo, or hides it when it's focused. Ctrl+Shift+X adds a screenshot to your next message, Ctrl+Shift+L sends the selected recent transcript to the assistant; choose 10 seconds to 3 minutes beside Send transcript, and Ctrl+Shift+U plays or pauses the teleprompter, Ctrl+Shift+C copies the latest answer and Ctrl+Shift+V asks for more detail on it, all from any app. While Cuekoo is focused, Ctrl+Shift+A asks for an answer to the last thing they said, Ctrl+Shift+Enter jumps to the message box, Ctrl+Shift+Minus fades the overlay a step and Ctrl+Shift+Equal makes it more solid, and Ctrl and the arrow keys move it.
You can change them in Settings.
Why doesn't Cuekoo notice a question?
Cuekoo notices questions from the other side only while Transcribe system audio is on, and only when question detection isn't Off. In Assist it shows the question with Compose and Answer; in Auto it writes the answer straight away. You can always press Ctrl+Shift+A, or type your own question.
Auto works on every plan while Cuekoo is transcribing.
Can Cuekoo answer from my own documents?
Yes. Add .md, .txt, .pdf, .docx or .pptx files, or pasted text, to a knowledge base and attach it to an agent. Answers from that agent draw on your documents, and when an answer uses one, it names the document and page or section.
Knowledge bases are part of Pro and Max.
What is a custom agent?
An agent is your own instructions and answer settings for a kind of call, such as an interview or a sales call. Start from a template (Interviewee, Tech consultant, Sales discovery, Customer support or Project check-in) or write your own, then pick it when you start a session.
Free includes up to 3 custom agents, and Overlay, Pro and Max up to 50.
Screen sharing and privacy
What people on the call can see, and what happens to what Cuekoo hears. The Privacy Policy has every detail.
Can people see Cuekoo when I share my screen?
Cuekoo's overlay is hidden from screen share. Windows leaves it out of what your meeting app captures, so people see your screen without it. Cuekoo shows "Hidden from screen share" once Windows confirms it, and a warning if it can't.
A camera pointed at your screen, or a capture tool that doesn't use Windows' standard capture, can still see it. Check with a test share before a call that matters.
Why does Cuekoo show a warning instead of "Hidden from screen share"?
Windows didn't confirm that the overlay is excluded from screen capture. Until it does, assume people can see Cuekoo when you share your screen. Check that you're on Windows 10 version 2004 or later and start the session again; if the warning stays, write to support.
What happens to my transcripts and questions?
To transcribe the call and write answers, Cuekoo sends the call's audio and text to the speech-to-text and AI providers it uses. Cuekoo keeps no audio. A session is saved to your account only when Save to Meetings is on, and then stays until you delete the meeting. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Do I need to tell people I'm using Cuekoo?
Yes. Recording and transcription laws differ from place to place, and some require everyone on the call to agree. Tell the other people that Cuekoo is transcribing the call and suggesting answers with AI; the overlay reminds you when listening starts.
How do I delete my account?
Write to privacy@cuekoo-ai.com from the email address on your account, and we'll delete it and everything in it; the Privacy Policy says what has to be kept afterwards, such as purchase records. You can delete a meeting, an agent or a knowledge base yourself from its page at any time.
Plans and billing
Prices and allowances are the current ones from Plans and pricing. Refunds follow the Refund Policy.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan gives you 25 minutes of transcription and 50 AI answers to try Cuekoo, once per account and once per computer, with no card needed.
Paid plans start at $9.99 a month.
Hour packs add transcription time on any plan and never expire.
What's the difference between the plans?
Overlay is $9.99 a month or $99 a year, with AI chat only and no transcription. Pro is $19.99 a month or $199 a year, with 30 hours of transcription a month. Max is $49.99 a month or $499 a year, with 100 hours of transcription a month.
Unlimited AI answers are in Overlay, Pro and Max. Saved meetings with notes, knowledge bases, TeleCue and extra usage are in Pro and Max.
Unlimited answers are fair use: they slow down after 60 in an hour or 400 in a day.
What are hour packs?
Hour packs add transcription time on any plan and never expire. They're used after your plan's own hours: 1 hour for $3, 3 hours for $7, 10 hours for $15 and 25 hours for $30.
What happens when my hours or answers run out?
Only that part stops: listening pauses when transcription time is used up, and answers stop when answers are. The overlay, your transcript, your notes and TeleCue keep working.
To keep transcribing, add an hour pack, turn on extra usage up to a monthly cap you set (Pro at $1.00 an hour and Max at $0.75 an hour), or on Pro and Max, wait for the month's hours to come back on your billing date.
AI answers run out only on the Free plan; Overlay, Pro and Max have unlimited answers.
How is transcription time counted?
Transcription time counts while either transcription switch is on, and both switches share one clock: a minute with both on uses one minute. Listening pauses by itself after 5 minutes without speech, so a forgotten session doesn't use up your time.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
You can cancel at any time from Plan and usage in the app, and you keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds are for purchases you haven't used yet, within 7 days, one per person; the Refund Policy has the details.
TeleCue licences
TeleCue is Cuekoo's teleprompter. Only the teleprompter needs a licence; notes never do.
How do I activate TeleCue?
Paste your licence key in Settings → TeleCue licence and choose Activate. That one step needs the internet; afterwards TeleCue works offline and signed out on that computer.
Pro and Max include TeleCue: sign in on your computer and it's there, with no key.
How do I move TeleCue to another computer?
A licence works on up to 3 computers. To use it on another one, open Settings → TeleCue licence, choose Show computers and remove one, then activate on the new computer.
What works without a TeleCue licence?
Everything but the teleprompter. Manual notes, the Notes and Scripts pages and the rest of the overlay never need a TeleCue licence, and notes work without an account.
TeleCue is a one-time purchase of $8, on up to 3 computers, with no subscription. It's also included in Pro and Max.
